When I moved to Los Angeles almost a year and a half ago, one of the first stores I went into was Heath Ceramics. I hardly needed any more dishware, being the lucky daughter of a mom who loves to buy stuff for any apartment (CareBear, Malibu, if you’re reading this, I still own plates I had at the Fred in college), but I couldn’t help falling in love with Heath’s earthy, minimalistic style. You don’t have to commit to an entire new set, but check out their stuff, you may find a dish or a mug you can add to any kitchen collection.

And a big thank you to MarineMom for pointing out the charity of the day to me. As you know by now, I’m a pretty big fan of the animal kingdom, and I’d do anything to save even a starving rat from perishing. Looking at my charities so far, I tried not to go too PETA on you and as it appears right now, we’re even split down the middle. Help humans: 4. Help animals: 4. Until today. Check out The Gentle Barn. If I hadn’t committed to a new business of my own I’d be banging down their door to be a lifetime employee. They just rescued a goat who was attacked by a dog and they need donations to help her recover. Come on, people. “All god’s creatures…” Give to The Gentle Barn if you can.
